The “Akordet e Kosovës” song festival opens tonight, Oct. 30, in Pristina with its fourth edition. Over three nights, through Nov. 1, the stage of the 1 Tetori hall will host songs for adults and, for the first time, a special edition devoted to children's songs.
The third night for the youngest
The novelty was announced by Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) Director General Zana Spahiu in an interview about the preparations. “The first two nights are the edition of the Song Festival for Adults, while on the third night, for the first time, the edition of the Children's Song,” she said. On the final night 15 young artists will perform, turning the festival into a space for new voices in Albanian music as well.
Culture and Tourism Minister Saranda Bogujevci visited the hall where rehearsals were under way and stressed the importance of preserving the musical heritage and creating spaces for new talent. “We have many talented children, and it is a great pleasure that today they are given the opportunity to perform on a big stage,” she said. The vice chair of the RTK Board, Xheraldina Cërnobregu, also spoke about the preparations.
Behind the scenes on the radio
The festival will be followed not only on stage but also behind it. Radio Kosova 2 is airing a special program at 9 p.m., hosted by Trendeline Bucolli and Valtona Kelmendi, which will bring listeners closer to the preparations, emotions and experiences of the artists during the festival nights.
The interviews will be conducted by Laura Kryeziu and Vjosa Husaj, while the program is broadcast from Radio Kosova's mobile studio, set up in the 1 Tetori hall.
