Cookies and browser storage

ANN doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. We store only a few things in your browser so the site works as you expect, which is why we don't show you a consent banner.

What we store

NameWhereWhyHow long
ann:savedlocalStorageThe articles you save in “Saved”Until you delete them
ann:comment-namelocalStorageYour name, so you don't type it again for your next commentUntil you delete it
ann:liked, ann:reportedlocalStorageSo you don't like or report the same comment twiceUntil you delete them
ann:viewed:…sessionStorageSo your view of an article is counted onceUntil you close the tab
payload-tokenCookieOnly for the newsroom, when signing in to the admin panelUntil sign-out

When bot protection is on for comments, Cloudflare Turnstile may store technical data to check that you're human.

All of these are needed for features you ask for yourself (saving articles, commenting), so the law doesn't require prior consent.

What we don't use

  • Personalized ads or ad networks
  • Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics
  • Social media pixels (Facebook, TikTok and others)
  • Device tracking for advertising

The site's fonts are served from our own servers, not from Google.

How to delete them

You can delete them at any time in your browser settings, under “Cookies and site data”. The site keeps working; you just lose your saved articles and your comment name.

If anything changes

If we ever add analytics or ads that need consent, we'll ask you first and update this page.
