The “LA RREMË” International Theater Festival closes its zero edition in Pristina tonight, two days built around performance, conversation and music. The festival opened on Friday in the Red Hall of the Palace of Youth with “Taverna Mirësia – Mario, Bella, Anastasia” by director Mario Banushi, a work that deals with memories, absence and human connections through a stage language that invites the audience to experience and reflect.
The classics and the future of theater
Saturday began with the masterclass “The Classics on the Contemporary Stage” by director Dino Mustafić at the National Theater of Kosovo, the festival's partner. At midday, the Barabar Centre hosted the discussion “Why do we still gather? Theater on shifting ground,” with Darko Lukić, Doruntina Basha, Marko Bratuš and Ilina Perianova, moderated by Aurela Kadriu. In the evening “Taverna Mirësia” was staged a second time, and the festival closes with a concert by Ibadete Ramadani and her band at the “Ramiz Sadiku” canteen and a night with DJ Erleta.
Bogujevci: A new space for Pristina
Culture Minister Saranda Bogujevci welcomed the festival on social media. “This festival adds a new space for contemporary theater to Pristina,” she wrote, also recalling Muharrem Qena, one of the important figures of Kosovo theater, with whom she linked the festival. Bogujevci congratulated the organizing team and wished the festival continuity.
The zero edition was produced in partnership with the National Theater of Kosovo and with support from the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Pristina, the Barabar Centre and several private sponsors.
