Egnatia opened the second phase of the Abissnet Superiore with a win. The Albanian champions beat Tirana 2-1 in the Week 10 match, played on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Vora stadium, according to ATSH, coming from behind after a difficult start.
Tirana's quick start
The capital side went ahead in the opening minutes: Hazrollaj scored in the 3rd minute according to Top Channel (ATSH puts the goal in the 4th) to give Tirana the lead. Egnatia reacted quickly and Loukili leveled the score in the 20th minute. The midfielder dedicated the goal to Eljon Sota, who is injured, ATSH reports.
The first half also cost the champions a player, as Eneo Bitri left the field injured. In the second half Ildi Gruda was also substituted.
Diabate settles it
Despite the forced changes, Egnatia kept pushing for the winner and found it in the 77th minute through Diabate, who made it 2-1. Tirana could not get back into the game in the closing minutes and the three points went to Rrogozhina. For the capital side it is a disappointment after the 1-1 draw in the derby with Dinamo City on Thursday in Durrës, while for Egnatia the win comes in the middle of a congested run of league and European fixtures.
Week 10 continues tonight at 6:30 p.m. with AF Elbasani–Laçi and Skënderbeu–Vllaznia, while on Monday Vora–Dinamo City (1:30 p.m.) and Teuta–Partizani (6:30 p.m.) are played. There is little time for rest for Egnatia: on Nov. 5 the champions face Universitatea Craiova in the Conference League.
