- Wheat growers receive support for planted area, fertilizer and diesel according to the norms of previous years.
- A minimum yield threshold of 3,225 kg/ha applies to 2026 applications.
Farmers in Kosovo are expected to receive decisions and payments under the Direct Payments 2026 scheme this week. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, which said administrative checks and on-site inspections of agricultural land have been completed.
The Agency for Agricultural Development has accepted a total of 33,460 applications. Lists of beneficiaries will be published in parallel with the area-based payments, while support for other schemes will come after this phase.
Wheat, with two separate schemes
Farmers who have planted wheat will receive support for the planted area, for fertilizer and for diesel costs, according to the norms and amounts applied in previous years. Support per kilogram of wheat is a separate scheme, which applies only to farmers who have delivered their grain to mills, and does not affect area-based payments.
Under Administrative Instruction No. 02/2026, a minimum yield threshold of 3,225 kilograms per hectare applies to this year's applications. The ministry clarified that the minister's decision on the national average yield, based on data from the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, relates to preparing the program for 2027 and does not affect 2026 applications that have already been accepted.
