Korça is once again the center of short film. The 13th edition of KO:SH Film Fest opens on Monday, Oct. 26, at 18:30 at Kinema Majestik with a screening of “Dua” by director Blerta Basholli, ATSH reports.
Over the festival's six days, 100 short films from 40 countries will be screened. Screenings take place at two venues in the city: Kinema Majestik and the Digital Arts Gallery (GAD). As the festival runs for six days, screenings will continue until Oct. 31.
“What we ignore, remains”
This year's edition carries the motto “WHAT WE IGNORE, REMAINS.” According to the organizers, the aim is to draw attention to stories that prompt reflection and go beyond topics that are often left unspoken.
The festival aims to create a distinctive cinematic atmosphere in Korça, bringing together different cultures, perspectives and stories from many countries. For the youngest audience, dedicated children's screenings are scheduled for Oct. 28, 29 and 30. The 13th edition confirms KO:SH as one of the regular short-film gatherings in Albania.
The opening film
“Dua,” the film opening the festival, is the latest project by Blerta Basholli, the Kosovo director who gained international recognition with “Hive.” Just days ago the film was in competition at a festival in Rome, where it was well received by Italian critics, and it now comes before the Korça audience on opening night.
