The play Every Brilliant Thing, known in Albanian as “Gjitha gjërat e mrekullueshme,” will have two performances in Pristina, on Oct. 29 and 30 at 8 p.m., at the Stacioni Kulturor venue, KultPlus reported. Tickets cost 5 euros. The staging follows its premiere in Tirana. The two evenings fall on Thursday and Friday of this week, and the announcement came on Tuesday, two days before the first performance for the Kosovo audience.
The text, written by British playwright Duncan Macmillan together with Jonny Donahoe, is performed by actor Armond Morina and directed by Fatos Berisha. The producer is Klejda Kika, the set design consultant is Matilda Pando, and design, lighting and sound are by Alban Nimani.
A list for living
According to its presentation, the play is a moving and at the same time humorous journey through life's darkest moments. The story is built on a long list that a child begins to write, with reasons why it is worth carrying on living. The list grows along with the character and becomes the backbone of the whole story.
The creators stress that the play reminds audiences that “there are always things worth living for, even in darkness.” Its format, with a single actor on stage and the audience often drawn into the storytelling, has led to the text being staged in many countries. For Pristina audiences, the two late-October evenings are a chance to see the Albanian version after Tirana.
