The charges
The defendant, Eugert Sino, is charged with “manufacturing and possessing military weapons, explosives and ammunition without a license,” committed jointly within a structured criminal group, as well as with leading that group. The criminal proceeding had been registered in 2023. According to prosecutors, the investigation established that Sino was the leader and financier of the illegal activity, which he carried out together with several other people whose names have not been made public.
The seized arsenal
During the investigation, 5 long sniper rifles, 6 automatic weapons, 12 pistols, 17 magazines, 4 gun barrels and 7,820 rounds of combat ammunition of various calibers were seized or secured. Expert reports found the weapons and ammunition in working order and fit for firing.
Cooperation with Kosovo
SPAK said the investigation was conducted in cooperation with Kosovo's judicial authorities, the Criminal Police Department of the State Police and the National Bureau of Investigation. The case now moves to the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, where the defendant will be able to defend himself against the charges. The prosecutors' announcement does not disclose the defendant's age, where the weapons were seized or whether he is under a security measure. Until a final ruling, he is presumed innocent.
