Milan needed a quick response after their heavy European defeat to Bournemouth and found it in Udine. The Rossoneri beat Udinese 2-0 away and climbed the table, staying in the race for Serie A's top spots.
The deadlock was broken early: in the sixth minute American Christian Pulisic scored the first goal, giving his side the calm it needed after a difficult week. Milan managed the lead and in the 65th minute Omari Hutchinson sealed the 2-0. Udinese, who conceded in the opening minutes, were unable to respond. With the win Milan climb to fourth place with 18 points, while Udinese came away empty-handed at home.
Juventus smile again
Juventus also got back to winning, beating Lecce 2-0. The Bianconeri went ahead in the 29th minute through Weston McKennie, after a move set up by Douglas Luiz, who scored the second goal himself in the 42nd minute. That made Douglas Luiz the star of the match, with an assist and a goal, and Juventus went into halftime 2-0 up.
In the second half Lecce pushed forward more and had a clear chance to cut the deficit through Maleh but failed to take it, and Juventus finished the match without conceding.
The table
With the three points, Juventus move to 14 points, level with Frosinone, while Milan, on 18 points, remain in the race for the top of the table.
