In brief
- The Aarhus vs. Egnatia match is played Thursday, Oct. 22, at 9 p.m.
- Egnatia drew 1-1 with Midtjylland in the first round of the league phase.
- Betting odds: 1.55 for Aarhus, 4.33 for a draw, 5.50 for Egnatia.
Egnatia are preparing for the second match in their history in the Conference League's league phase. The Albanian champions travel to Denmark to face Aarhus, the reigning Danish champions, on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 9 p.m.
The Rrogozhina side began their European run with a 1-1 draw against Midtjylland, a result that gave the squad confidence. “We showed who we are,” coach Nevil Dede said after that match, according to UEFA.
Aarhus the favorites
The betting market sees the Danish side as clear favorites: an Aarhus win pays 1.55, a draw 4.33 and an Egnatia win 5.50. Panorama Sport notes that these figures reflect only a preliminary assessment and that Egnatia will need to be careful in defense and clinical with the chances they create.
Egnatia, who have won the last three Albanian league titles, made their debut this season in the league phase of Europe's third-tier competition. A positive result in Denmark would bring them closer to their goal of advancing to the knockout stages.
